Smile More… The Kid Friendly Webcomic
Far, far away, in a land where the sun is bright and life is never dull, lives Smiling Bear and his buddies.
Smiling Bear is not actually a bear at all. He’s a koala. As bears are so cute and cuddly he likes to pretend. He’s a laid back, cheerful creature who enjoys life to the ‘relaximum’. All he wants is to be happy, and to smile more.
Smile More… is a kid friendly, all ages webcomic. It’s a humorous look at koala, Smiling Bear’s happy-headed life. Everything from small everyday observations, through to exciting adventure and avoidance of the dreaded Smile Stoppers. Always positive, funny with a touch of cheek!
Updates: As of mid 2015, intermittently (due to other Smiling Bear commitments).

Here’s the latest edition of the ‘Smile More’ comic strip, that appears in Just Kidding – Australia’s number one tween magazine.
This koala comic is all about having a change of scene. Camping out overnight, where you can dream freely right under the stars.
There’s something totally relaxing and refreshing about having a change of scene, especially when that scene is nature. It’s a powerful experience, and in complete contrast with your everyday life (unless you live in nature of course, in which case you should go to a huge city with sky scrapers, traffic jams and lots of hustle and bustle!)
Camping out overnight takes things to a whole new level. Sitting with friends around a camp fire, sharing your stories, listening, laughing. There’s a completely different rhythm to your life back home. And when you look up into the darkness (assuming it’s not overcast) all you can see are stars twinkling, great big clusters of them right across the sky. You’ll be amazed at how many you can see, as away from the towns and cities there’s no light pollution from buildings or street lights hiding them.
When it’s finally time to sleep, you will lie there quietly in your tent, waiting for those unexpected night time sounds. What was that? An owl, a fox, or maybe just the wind blowing through the trees? It will soon be morning and you’ll wake with the sun. Poking your head out of the tent flaps, you wonder who else is up and about yet.
The time will come to return back home again, and you may even feel a little sad. But remember this; you’re energised and invigorated, bursting with fresh ideas and inspiration, ready to tackle any challenges and grab hold of new opportunities.
A quick warning too. After your long drive home make sure someone else unpacks the vehicle. There’s a damp, crumpled tent and all the other equipment to deal with, it takes forever and is hugely boring!
So go on, get outside and get into nature, and spend a night dreaming under the stars.
Please note: If you’re a child, please ask your parents or guardian to take you camping, as whilst it’s a lot of fun you also need to make sure you stay safe.

Here’s the latest edition of the ‘Smile More’ comic strip, that appears in Just Kidding– Australia’s number one tween magazine.
This koala comic is all about being happy with the way you look. We can all get really stressed out about how we look. Do we have a particular feature we don’t like? Are we wearing the latest clothes and brands? Are we in good enough shape? The list just keeps on growing!
No matter how stressed out you get about your appearance, remember that real friends will like you just the way you are. Well, as long as you don’t let your sense of style get too whacky!?

Here’s the May edition of the ‘Smile More’ comic strip, that appears in Just Kidding – Australia’s number one tween magazine.
This koala comic is all about being happy on the inside. So what is being ‘happy on the inside’ anyway? Modern life is so busy and distracting that most of the time it’s just whizzing straight by us. It’s exhausting trying to keep up and we are constantly missing the simple things going on right under our nose.
So take a moment to engage with real life, go outside and marvel at the natural beauty around you, participate in activities. Talk to people and find out how they’re doing. Check in with yourself, how are you feeling? Are you looking after yourself?

This weeks koala comic is all about relationships.
Sometimes, when you’re feeling a little bit down or maybe you’re having a problem with something, it’s good to get a little help from our friends.
Friends and family play a big part in our happiness. You’ll be healthier and happier if you can develop strong relationships with people. The great thing is that they benefit too, because relationships work both ways – they are social. And no, not social as in a ’social network’ (like Facebook) but as in talking to someone, communicating, caring and supporting each other.
So go on, off you go. Go and see what your friends or family are up to. You never know, they might be having fun and you’re missing out!
Also to mention, we’ve had some great news this week. Starting next month, Just Kidding magazine will be featuring our ‘Smile More’ kid-friendly comic. We’re thrilled as JK mag is the number one tween magazine in Australia, and very popular with kids, parents and schools. It's a great home for our Australian comic with super cute koala cartoons. Thanks guys!

Smile More™ the weekly webcomic kicks off again this week, so lots more koala cartoon pictures for you to check out.
Towards the end of 2014 we ran a competition in Just Kidding Magazine and the winners have just been announced. The competition was to answer the question, “What makes you SMILE MORE”. We had some great answers and the top 6 won cute koala plush prize packs.
Congratulations go to:
1. Lucia Strever from Noranda, Victoria.
2. Mariah Stavliotis from West Croydon, South Australia.
3. Amelia Hitzke from Clontarf, Queensland.
4. Charlie Slack from Perth, Western Australia.
5. Blythe Lambie from Rowville, Victoria.
6. Annie Jiang from Glen Waverley, Victoria.
A special Smile More Shoutout goes to Lucia Strever. She said that her cat makes her Smile More because he’s so cute and cuddly!
Congratulations Lucia, your answer has become the theme for this latest edition of our cute koala comic. Fluff is Smiling Bear’s pet cat, and it seems his idea of a cuddle is more like a quick wrestle 'n' roll!
You can see all the Smile More kid-friendly webcomics here. That’s more koala cartoons than you’ll know what to do with :-)

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! It’s tough getting up in the morning, especially when you’re one super-comfy koala!
Smiling Bear is particularly partial to a mug of that classic hot beverage, coffee. However, his brand of choice is a little more potent in the kickstarting department. Called Koffee with a K, one cup of this and there’s no turning back (especially back to bed)!
Disclaimer: Whilst there’s no actual recommended age to start drinking coffee, please be sensible. 18 or over seems like a good idea. Besides, until then you can use the equally effective cold shower or ice bath!
